Be Your Future

My year at Microsoft has been life changing. The opportunities that were given to me and the investment in my development has been far greater than I initially suspected. Microsoft holds employee satisfaction at the heart of its mantra and really brings out the best in people. The work environment is friendly, fast, innovative and passionate and this has allowed me to not only think creatively but speak to other experienced staff and seek their experiences and opinions. Microsoft really promotes interns undertaking their own projects and following their own path throughout the year and this really allows you to explore what you want to do in the future and what your strengths and interests are now.

My role as a TAM has given me a vast range of experiences across different parts of the business as well as a unique view into companies that work with Microsoft, the issues they face and how their work environment differs from ours. This has allowed me to really appreciate not just how a business works but how great Microsoft is to work for. The team I work in are friendly and knowledgeable and always willing to help and share experiences and this has really allowed me to relax into my role knowing that if help is needed, it is there.

My year has been great and I will greatly miss the professional yet exciting culture that is Microsoft. Opportunities to sit Microsoft certifications and exams, shadowing allowances, volunteering and exciting project teams that I have been a part of have really helped me to develop and understand where I want to go in the future and this was what my year was for, understanding where I want to work and what I want to do, and at Microsoft I have found it.
